On the 8th of November at 5 PM another “Debate for the Dialogue” was held in the Culture Dialogue Museum in Kielce (Rynek 3 St.). It was focused on Papusza – the outstanding Romani poet.
Angelika Kuźniak, the author of the book “Papusza”, Elżbieta Ficowska (widow of Jerzy Ficowski), Joanna Talewicz-Kwiatkowska, the member of the board of Association of Romani People in Poland and the editor-in-chief of quarterly magazine “Dialog-Pheniben” as well as Roman Kwiatkowski, the co-founder of Association of Romani People in Poland – took part in the event. The meeting was led by Małgorzata Kołaczek, PhD, the executive editor of the quarterly magazine “Dialog-Pheniben”.
During the meeting, the archival radio recordings with Papusza’s participation were presented, in which the poet is talking about her life, the artistic work and the relationship with Jerzy Ficowski and Julian Tuwim. The whole was completed with a recitation of Papusza’s poems, performed by students of the school of Wola Jachowa.
The event was organised as a part of the “Wolność i pokój” Festival , and “Debates for the Dialogue” series.
